A New Dawn is coming

Just as the darkness of night fades into the light of a new dawn, so too will the Earth and her children pass through the darkness of duality and chaos into the light of a beautiful new Earth filled with peace and Divine love, free of fear and all that fear has created in it’s wake: poverty and famine, pollution, war, death and destruction.

Dare to believe, dare to choose.  We have been given freedom of choice; rise above the storm to see the sun filtering down through the clouds. Know and trust in your heart that a new and beautiful day is coming.

Look forward and not back, bypass the doom and gloom of the front page news, create the space inside yourself for peace and you will find it mirrored back to you. Join the cosmic tide of Divine love that is sweeping Mother Earth. Reach out to help one another and feel the strength of love bringing light to the darkness!

With Blessings of Love and Light on this World day of Peace!

I have been thinking a lot about the state of the world lately, in particular this need of the mainstream media to play upon our fears and the negative when what we truly need is a big shot of positive energy on a daily basis to help put us back on track. It is hard enough to deal with challenges in our own lives without being bombarded hourly with doom and gloom. Even if one doesn’t subscribe to the media’s drama it seeps into our lives one way or another.

It is like a black hole that is never filled, never satisfied, consuming all that it touches.

So how does one counteract this black hole, this vortex of negative energy that seems to pervade even the sunniest dispositions?

I think the first step is to be conscious of it, to be aware of what we are listening to and buying into; to become aware of our thoughts and more importantly, our feelings about those thoughts. They are the vibrations that attract more of the same in a vicious circle, a feeding frenzy of negativity that can be extremely difficult to turn around.

Once you become aware then you may want to ask yourself how the particular drama serves you, what are you getting out of it? This may be a time to be really honest with yourself and pay attention to that small voice in your heart. This may lead you on a journey of self discovery and spiritual growth that will shield you from the increasing waves of chaos around you.

At this point you can also choose to accept the skewed perception that is being presented to you or you can look at it from another perspective and see that which is positive and uplifting. It’s there, it has always been there waiting for you to see it. Focus on that which feeds your soul, cultivate appreciation, gratitude and love in the purest form. These seeds will grow and magnify all that is good and positive in your life and attract them to you. The old saying to “stop and smell the flowers” is true wisdom!

Fear only feeds on itself, on the other hand, love accepts fear and loves it free. What will you choose?

I Choose Love!

This Earth Day, why not let Mother Earth know how much you care:

  • bring your own travel mug for your daily “Timmy” or “Starbucks”
  • make a plan to grow and eat your own veggies or plant some seeds for a future garden
  • check out the local farmers market
  • create a work of art using recycled materials
  • support an environmental cause
  • bring your own bag for shopping
  • take a moment to appreciate the air you breathe and the trees around you for making it possible.
  • give thanks for the gift of water that nourishes and supports all life.
  • take time to watch the sunset, to listen to the sound of a birds song, to stop and smell the sweet perfume of a rose…..

Know that every choice you make that supports Mother Earth supports you, your family, all of your brothers and sisters around the world and all of life on this dear beautiful planet! I think she is worth it don’t you?

Happy Earth Day!

Essence of Autumn

There is something so exquisitely ethereal about the season of Autumn, it is as if Mother Earth has graced me with the vision to see her essence – I feel all of the joy, all of my memories of the spring and of the summer behind me wrapped up in this display.

It is as as though I am looking at a glorious sunset through an exquisitely faceted crystal, watching the light shimmer and refract into the myriad of brilliant fall colours before me. The past, present and future, all the enchantment and beauty of each passing season have joined together in one magnificent emanation of Divine energy in shades of tawny gold, soft green and yellow, auburn and vibrant orange.

And in the quietness of the winter yet to come

Mother Earth is gently reminding me that to everything there is a season, each one in turn perfect and beautiful, …

that all is one.

In the falling of the leaves we know that the time of silence and sleep must come

and yet  even in the darkest nights and the darkest of winters,

the light is always there, waiting for us to remember,

the Diamond core within all life:

the essence of Love, Divine, Holy, transfiguring, unconditional Love.

We are all beloved Children of the Light,

Thank you Mother Earth!

Thoughts of Autumn

Jarvis Bay Autumn © 2010 Bobbie Seright Palanuik

You would think after fifty some odd years I would cease to be surprised at the first heavy frost of the autumn, or grow weary of the glorious gold, red, orange and green tapestry that nature displays every year at this time.

Perhaps that is the child in me, forever young, seeing each moment new, delightful, and full of wonder.

I never tire of watching the flight of the geese as they arrow their way across a crisp blue horizon or of hearing the leaves crunch beneath my feet as I stir the ankle-deep amber waves.

Time seems to slow down somehow, to pause, as if knowing that this is mother earth’s last hurrah before the big sleep of winter.

The small black aphids circle lazily in the air as the soft sunlight carries the pungent scent of balsam to me.

I know once again that it is time to embrace this requiem and like the leaves, surrender to the rhythm and flow of life.

High above me in my dream world, in the holy light of the Divine Violet Flame, the Eagle flies. Softly she calls, beckoning me to rise above this world I have created: to see it from a higher perspective, to see all that surrounds me, all that supports me and all that does not. It is time, time to let go, to release the past – all that fear has held sway over; all that I have been holding in and holding on to; all that I have been afraid to bring into the light…..

As the blessed full moon gives way to this time of Beltane, I feel the energy tide of growth, the binding force rising. All around me there are signs of new life, and new life in the making. It is time, time to shed the old ways, all that does not serve and step into the newness of my own Divine potential. The Holy Violet flame surrounds and enfolds me now in a wave of unconditional love and compassion, transmuting the illusions of my own fears. I watch as these dark crystals rise into the flame and burst into white-gold shards of iridescent light.

My awareness gently returns to Mother Earth and I breathe in the sweet scent of this new life. In the sacred endless circle, I feel the Divine transfiguring love from the heart of Great Spirit flowing through my own sacred heart down into the heart of Mother Earth and then rise once more into to the heavens and into the heart of God.

All is well and all is love.

Wishing you all the blessings of Beltane, the presence of harmony, joy and beauty born in the union of selfless giving and receiving, the yin and yang of Beltane!

Namaste.

Happy Mother Earth ©Bobbie Seright Palanuik

Although the United Nations Earth Day is commemorated on the March equinox, in both Canada and the United States, Earth Day is celebrated on April 22. In the northern hemisphere, this seems a fitting time as the earth is just starting to reawaken with new life after a long winter sleep.

This Earth Day marks the 41st tribute to our beautiful blue planet. The first Earth Day was founded by peace activist,* John McConnell at the 1969 Unesco Conference on the Environment. In appreciation for the Earth and her beauty, John proposed a global celebration to be called Earth Day. Thus began the annual UN March equinox observance of Earth Day.

The following year, in what began as an ”environmental teach-in”,  U.S Senator Gaylord Nelson founded the United States Earth Day on April 22, 1970 with over 20 million participants. Today Earth Day is actively celebrated by over 500 million people worldwide!

As I look back to that time of political activism and drive for positive change in the world, I can appreciate how far we have come in terms of humanity’s awareness and respect for the environment. For many of us in the western world, recycling is now an automatic part of the daily routine. Most children today know what a blue box is for and the recycle logo has become an old familiar sight. Environmentally friendly choices have become available for everything from toilet paper to luxury vehicles.

The effects of Climate Change have emphasized the necessity for careful environmental stewardship with the realization that our actions truly do impact the intricate web of life on this planet.

Yet even as Mother Earth experiences these sometimes traumatic consequences of climate change, I see more and more of our human family being drawn back into the fold, moving from a place of complacency to one of compassion and reverence for the earth and all of her children.

May you find time this Earth Day
to walk in oneness
with the Spirit of the Earth,
may you feel her love enfolding you
in a gentle embrace
of peace and tranquility,
lightening your heart
and rejuvenating your soul.
Happy Earth Day!

Namaste

I honour the place in you in which the entire universe dwells

That place of love and light and truth and peace

When I am in that place in me,

And you are in that place in you,

We are one.

- attributed to Ram Dass - the meaning of Namaste

If we look within, to our own hearts, we find this sacred space - the place where miracles of love, joy, beauty and peace are born. Many artists know the path and do their best to lead the way.

As an visual artist, I perceive this gift of the creative facet of Divine Love and in listening to the voice of my heart, I allow the flame of passion, intuition and vision to move me in ever higher vibrations. In this Holy place I aspire to lift the human spirit with my creations.

I believe that we are all artists in this world, each with our own special gifts, capable of creating with our own visions, passions and aspirations……and if we listen to the still small voice within our hearts, each of us can lift the human spirit with this precious gift of Divine Love.

The journey of the heart

holds many memories

each in turn filling the spaces of a human life -

butterfly moments of golden rainbow light

intertwined with shades of grey and

fragments of the deepest pools of black.

And yet

just beyond the horizon

the glimmer of a breathtaking violet rose radiance

beckons you to follow.

With each passing day the light grows ever stronger

until at last you know what your heart knows -

that all paths lead home,

and with this flame of Divine Love

burning clear and strong within you,

you quietly come to realize

that you never really left.
